The Portal To Hell And The Shell In The Forest

On a nice day, together with Laguna.sam, I searched for an outstanding cache for our guestcacher Stu, which was our third fellow today.
Laguna.sam and myself made some of such kind of caches before. This one, with the nice story and the impressive length, was outstanding indeed.
The weather was very good. But it rained some hours before. To get down to the entrance, we had to do a T4.5. And I mean it. Step after step we climbed down the ridiculous slippery surface. It took some time until we were down, standing before the portal to hell. We had no fear and moved right in with our headlamps.,

We found some strange things inside. Strange things like a makeshift bong or an old rim from a small car. Creepy chalk sediments from the incoming water made some bizarre places. We found the chimney and Laguna spotted the container while we made photos.

Of course we didn't walk back the same way. We wanted to see the other side of this tunnel. And after a feeling we walked forever, I heard a bird whistling, and soon after that we saw light!

After visiting the portal to hell, nothing could fear us anymore So we all thought. But we not only discovered some nice things on this round, but a very dangerous thing, too.
At of of this caches of that round, there is an old mortar shell. We had some problems to stop Stu from examining and opening the shell just in time. Only about 50m away from the cache there is an old mortar shell from WW II. This is very dangerous as it lies in the explosion range.

This thing needs to get defused. The ways... well wait, which ways? :) It's definitely no Sunday walk. But we knew that. Some nice hides made us smile and the Bonus did make a great ending of our today's tour in this nice area.

And that's it for the trip. It was a lot of fun.
